On February 7, 2026, MAVKA Aquapark marked its first anniversary. To celebrate, we spoke with its director, Vasyl Hrynkiv, about the year behind and the plans ahead.
— Vasyl, congratulations on MAVKA’s first anniversary. What would you highlight from this year?
— Thank you! It’s been a busy year and, honestly, a turning point. We’ve grown significantly – both in guest numbers and service quality. We’ve learned to listen better, respond faster, streamline processes and add new services. For me, the key result is the dedication of our guests and a team that has become even stronger.
— Which tariff was the most popular in 2025?
— Without a doubt, "Friends & Family". MAVKA is, above all, a place for families and friends. It’s a great option if you want to come as a group and unwind.
— Will the evening tariff stay throughout 2026? How many guests usually come in the evening hours?
— Yes, it will definitely stay in 2026. Moreover, we plan to develop the offer further. On average, around 15-20% of all guests choose evening hours, and during peak periods that share is even higher. The format has really worked.
— Is the Monobank instalment option popular?
— It is, and we’re genuinely happy about it. Instalments make it more accessible, guests use this option a lot, especially families and groups. It removes a financial barrier and helps people plan their day without added stress.
— You introduced insurance at the end of 2025. How is this option performing now?
— Insurance is gradually becoming more popular. As a team, we put a lot of effort into building a culture where guests think about additional safety, especially when it’s an active day out with children. We see it as a necessary step, and we will keep developing this option.
— What are MAVKA’s plans for 2026?
— There’s a lot ahead. We’re continuing to develop the SPA direction with new treatments and rituals. At the same time, we’re working on new event formats, service improvements, and team training and development. We also plan to add more slides and create a children’s playroom club so that the visit feels comfy and engaging for guests of any age. Our goal is for MAVKA to be associated not only with waterpark amusements, but rather a place for full recovery – both physical and emotional.
— Tell us about the team. How many people work at MAVKA, and what drives them?
— More than 150 people work here. It’s a diverse team of professionals: safety personnel, administrators, cashiers, technical staff, cleaning and laundry teams, massage therapists, animators and SPA specialists. Many of them genuinely love what they do – some love the water, some love the service industry, some enjoy the atmosphere. That variety creates the special vibe our guests experience every day.
— Since MAVKA introduced a separate entrance to the SPA area, what has become more popular – the slides or the SPA?
— Interestingly, it’s almost a 50/50 split right now. Slides and the wave pool are about energy and adrenaline. The SPA is about quiet, warmth and recovery. Many guests combine both, and I think that balance is one of our strengths.
— Vasyl, once again, congratulations on MAVKA’s first anniversary. Wishing you and the whole team success, and many guests ahead.
— Thank you.
Earlier, we mentioned that as part of the aquapark update, MAVKA plans to expand the slide zone to 12 attractions.
