Bukovel joins Climate Friendly Travel initiative

Bukovel has officially joined the international Climate Friendly Travel program – a global initiative that promotes responsible tourism and supports destinations striving to reduce their environmental impact.

This partnership highlights Bukovel’s ongoing efforts to lower its carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency, and integrate eco-conscious practices across all levels of resort operations.

“Climate policy is a key part of our sustainability strategy,” says Bohdan Krasavtsev, Head of Bukovel’s Office of Sustainable Development. “We’ve already made significant progress – from solar panel installations generating 0.6 MW of renewable energy to smart LED lighting controlled by astronomical sensors. We offer free hourly shuttle buses around the resort and operate 7 public EV charging stations. Plus, our guests have access to bike and electric scooter rentals across five locations. Recently, 11 hotels and our NUMO restaurant were certified as Green Key venues – making Bukovel the first destination in Ukraine to undertake this scale of transformations.”

In collaboration with the Climate Friendly Travel initiative, Bukovel will continue to:

  • modernize infrastructure to reduce emissions;
  • expand low-emission transport options;
  • promote eco-awareness among guests;
  • strengthen partnerships with local communities and environmental NGOs.

As the tourism industry moves toward greener standards, Bukovel is proud to help lead the way – proving that world-class hospitality and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
