How Bukovel supports Ukrainian military personnel

Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, more than 24000 Ukrainian military personnel have taken part in a week-long retreats at Bukovel.

In 2022, Bukovel, in collaboration with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, launched its recovery program for military personnel, now entering its fourth year.

Each week, around one hundred service members arrive at the resort with their families. We provide accommodation, meals, and free access to attractions, including tickets to the MAVKA aquapark, Ferris Wheel, Hutsul Land folk-park, and panoramic lifts.

"This initiative comes directly from the resort," says Bohdan Krasavtsev, Head of Bukovel’s Sustainable Development Office. "Over 250 million UAH have already been invested in the program, and it will continue. Participants are selected by our partners from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and those interested should apply through their command."

Beyond that, Bukovel actively develops the veteran support initiative. The resort partners with children’s camps, assists children of military personnel, and, for the second year in a row, acts as general partner of the national qualifiers for the Strong Spirits Games in cooperation with the Ukrainian Strongman Federation.

Additionally, Bukovel funds the creation of inclusive outdoor training facilities. Six playgrounds have already opened in Ivano-Frankivsk, Kolomyia, and Nadvirna, with two more planned in Kalush and Halych.

"This is more than just sport – it is a true social mission we carry out with the Ukrainian Strongman Federation. I believe everyone, regardless of age or life challenges, should have the opportunity to train for free and feel strength in their own body. What Bukovel does for veterans and the public through sports shows that business can be about more than profit – it can also be about heart and social responsibility," emphasizes Bohdan Krasavtsev.

Under the inclusivity program, the resort offers 13 sets of adaptive skis, creating opportunities for inclusive recreation for veterans both in winter and summer.

Previously, Bukovel organized a special visit to the MAVKA aquapark for children of military families from local communities, providing them with unforgettable experiences.

Starting from summer 2025, the Inclusive Bukovel program also offers five free adaptive bicycles, further expanding opportunities for all guests to enjoy their stay.
