McDonald’s opens in Bukovel
McDonald’s, one of the world’s most popular restaurant chains, has opened a new location at Bukovel Resort, near lift #14. It is the chain’s 163rd restaurant in Ukraine and the first McDonald’s to open at this altitude in the Ukrainian mountains.
The opening is also an important development for the local labour market, creating 80 new jobs for people from the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
The new Bukovel McDonald’s occupies 477 m² and features the contemporary Classic Spectrum interior concept. The brand’s distinctive design has been carefully integrated into the setting of the year-round mountain resort.
A dedicated car park is located next to the restaurant and includes two parking spaces for people with disabilities.
Guests have 280 seats to choose from, with 129 inside the restaurant and 158 on the terrace. While the interior and exterior are unmistakably McDonald’s, this particular design is only the second of its kind in Ukraine. Free Wi-Fi is also available inside the restaurant.
Sustainability and accessibility
Environmental initiatives, digital inclusion and barrier-free accessibility were all given particular attention in the development of the new restaurant.
Environmental care and sustainable development
A number of environmental initiatives have been introduced to help reduce waste and encourage more responsible consumption.
- Waste sorting and recycling. The restaurant operates a separate waste collection system. All collected waste is sent for further recycling, with the Bukovel McDonald’s working with a specialised contractor to handle the process.
- Reducing plastic use. The company is actively working to reduce its use of single-use plastics.
- Bring your own cup. Guests can order hot drinks in their own reusable cups. To do so, simply let a staff member at the counter know before ordering or select the appropriate option at a self-service kiosk.
Digital inclusion
The restaurant’s self-service kiosks have been adapted to accommodate people with different needs.
- For wheelchair users. The main menu interface can be lowered to a more convenient height, making it easier to browse the menu and place an order.
- For people with hearing impairments. The terminals include an audio assistance feature with text-to-speech functionality, designed to make the digital service easier to use.
A barrier-free environment
Both the restaurant itself and the surrounding area have been designed according to universal design principles.
- Accessible infrastructure. The areas inside and around the restaurant are free from physical barriers, helping ensure comfortable and unrestricted movement.
- Accessible toilet. A specially adapted toilet has been provided inside the restaurant and designed with the needs of people with disabilities in mind.
- Navigation for people with visual impairments. Tactile paving has been installed both inside and outside the building, while Braille elements provide additional assistance with navigating the space.
Safety during air-raid alerts
If an air-raid alert is announced, the restaurant suspends operations, and both employees and guests must proceed to the nearest shelter. The closest shelters are located in the Parking Area No. 2 building, the Buka Entertainment Centre, as well as the HVOYA and Radisson Blu Resort hotels.

The restaurant is open every day, seven days a week:
- dining area – 07:00-23:00;
- McDrive – 05:00-23:30.
