Bukovel hosts Carpathian C8 Summit with over 500 participants
On 18-19 September, Bukovel hosted the international Carpathian C8 Summit, bringing together representatives from eight countries across the Carpathian region: Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary.
More than 500 participants attended the summit, including representatives of government, business, the banking sector and civil society organisations, alongside numerous international guests.
Strengthening cooperation between countries across the region and developing the Carpathians as an international tourist destination were among the key topics discussed at the summit.
"I know for certain that Bukovel is a gateway to modern Ukraine – a country that continues to build, invest and create jobs even in wartime. Together, we can turn the Carpathians into a major European tourist destination: one journey offering many countries, cultures and experiences," said Zakhar Palytsia, a shareholder of Bukovel Resort.
The summit also offered an opportunity to introduce Ukrainian and international participants to Bukovel’s tourism infrastructure, its leisure opportunities and its capacity to host international events, while highlighting the resort’s potential to contribute to the region’s further development.
An expo zone operated at the resort throughout the event, giving representatives from different sectors a platform to showcase their projects and initiatives. The summit programme also featured the Presidential hand-to-hand combat competition, as well as an address by Romanian President Nicușor Dan at Radisson Blu Resort Bukovel.
The Carpathian C8 Summit created another platform for international dialogue on the future of the Carpathians, with a focus on tourism, business and cross-border cooperation.
