In January 2025, the Bukovel sustainable development Office officially commenced its work.
The Office's primary goal is to align Bukovel with international Green Destinations standards, transforming it into a sustainable tourist destination.
Bukovel’s certification will be based on 84 key criteria, covering areas such as energy efficiency, mobility, management practices, water resource conservation, air and water quality protection, solid waste management, preservation of landscapes and biodiversity, historical and cultural heritage research, climate change adaptation, local community's social well-being, and inclusion practices.
“Sustainability is now at the core of Bukovel’s transformation. We are developing a long-term strategy to become Ukraine’s first certified Green Destinations tourist destination. We have already installed air quality monitoring sensors, measured noise and light pollution levels, and are preparing to implement our waste sorting program”, says Bohdan Krasavtsev, Head of the Bukovel sustainable development Office.
The sustainable development Office is located in the Bukovel reception building.
