New research results on local business growth

A sociological study by Dnipro Polytechnic has shed light on how Bukovel influences tourism development and accessibility in Polianytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

Key findings

The research focused on two main questions:

  • How well are sustainability principles integrated into local businesses?
  • How much does tourism improve the lives of community residents?

The results are telling:

  • 85% of business owners say Bukovel helped them start their businesses.
  • 70% believe tourism businesses have improved quality of life for locals.

“These figures show Bukovel’s strong positive impact. New jobs, higher incomes, and growing enterprises are making the Polianytsia community more prosperous,” explains Bohdan Krasavtsev, Head of Bukovel’s Office of Sustainable Development.

Sustainability on the rise

The study also found encouraging signs of environmental awareness among businesses:

  • 55% are working on sustainability plans and openly sharing eco-practices.
  • Over 70% already track energy, water, and fuel usage – a critical step toward cutting costs and reducing environmental impact.

For local entrepreneurs, sustainability isn’t just about "being green". It’s also about staying competitive, offering unique experiences, and attracting new guests.

“The community is highly ready to adopt sustainable practices, which is a strong signal for Bukovel’s future development,” adds Mr. Krasavtsev.
