Public discussion about tourism development and the infrastructural capacity of resorts is both necessary and constructive. It helps set standards, reinforces accountability and drives systemic improvement. At the same time, any discussion must be grounded in verified facts.
Regarding the situation around the "mass food poisonings" hype
As of today, official data do not confirm the existence of an epidemic within the Bukovel resort area. Individual medical cases are being reviewed by the relevant authorities; however, there are no factual grounds to assert a systemic crisis or a large-scale outbreak.
We adhere to these clear principles:
- if there are risks – they must be examined;
- if a public discussion develops – it must be based upon verified facts.
Water supply and treatment infrastructure
Water quality is our core safety priority. Water undergoes a multi-stage purification process that includes treatment with safe flocculants, disinfection using sodium hypochlorite and the FLOX-12M system, dual-stage filtration through graded quartz sand, and ultraviolet disinfection to eliminate bacteria and viruses.
Quality control is continuous. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) levels in drinking water are tested daily. Bacteriological analyses are conducted twice a month. Sanitary and chemical testing is carried out quarterly in cooperation with the Bohorodchany Department of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. All results are documented in both electronic and paper formats to ensure transparency and traceability.
Within Bukovel, the following infrastructure is in operation:
- a water filtration station with a capacity of 200 m³ per hour, ensuring proper water preparation before distribution;
- wastewater treatment facilities with a capacity of 4,000 m³ per day, providing full biological treatment using the C-TECH technology;
- all used water undergoes complete purification cycle before being returned back into the environment.
These are not declarative statements, but long-term investment solutions implemented to safeguard guests and protect the environment.
Sustainable development is our strategy
Our commitment to sustainable development continues. In 2026, we plan to:
- further develop the environmental monitoring system;
- expand responsible waste management practices;
- enhance service quality standards;
- implement new environmental initiatives;
- advance compliance with international environmental and tourism standards.
For us, sustainable development is not a damage control tool, but a long-term governance model.
Trust is built on facts
Any incident in the tourism sector impacts public trust. Therefore, it is essential to:
- avoid unverified generalizations;
- distinguish isolated cases from systemic issues;
- confirmed information must be a foundation for public dialogue.
A strong tourism economy is built where businesses invest in infrastructure, the state establishes clear rules and public communication remains fact-based. Bukovel continues to operate in line with these principles.
Our sustainable development strategy remains unchanged – focused on safety, environmental responsibility and accountability to people and nature.
