Bukovel isn’t just a winter wonderland – it’s a year-round playground for hiking and active adventures. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced trekker, the resort offers everything you need for an unforgettable journey into the Carpathians.
The Tourist Center is at the heart of this experience:
- Free hiking maps of the region;
- Waymarked trails for all skill levels;
- Experienced guides ready to accompany you;
- Knowledgeable staff who help you pick the perfect route.
Even if you’re new to hiking, apps like Mapy.cz, Strava, and Google Maps are great companions, but nothing beats the guidance you’ll get from the Tourist Center team. They’ll share tips on safely tackling peaks like Syniak, Malyi Gorgan, or Dovha.
Beginner-Friendly Routes:
- Stroll down the forest trail “into the Distant Mountains” from the upper station of lift 14;
- Join the evening theatrical extravaganza “To the Heart of the Carpathians.”
For the more adventurous, there’s trail running and challenging hikes:
- The center supports the Ukrainian Skyrunning Championship;
- Hosts large-scale events like BUKO TRAIL, with up to 800 participants covering distances from 6 to 160 km.
With 7 hiking trails in total – 1 difficult, 4 medium, 2 easy – you’ll find over 70 km of scenic paths winding through the Carpathians.
Trail maintenance is taken seriously: guides regularly clear paths, refresh markings, remove fallen trees, and install drainage in high-traffic areas.
Safety comes first. Every day at 8:00 am, join a guided hike of medium difficulty to learn essential skills like navigation, trail etiquette, and safe mountain trekking.
Meet the Hiking Ambassadors: Pedan, Pozdnii, Susol
This year, Bukovel launched “Summer with Hiking Ambassadors”, a series of guided adventures with renowned mountaineers, athletes, and bloggers, designed to inspire and encourage active exploration.
In early August, Ukrainian mountaineer Taras Pozdnii, who is pursuing the “Seven Summits Challenge”, led a hike. He has already conquered 4 of the world’s 14 peaks over 8,000 meters, including Everest, sharing his journey and the lessons learned along the way.
Earlier this summer, TV host Oleksandr Pedan guided a group to Mt. Syniak, sharing his passion for active recreation and encouraging everyone to continue exploring.
Coming up August 15, 2025, starting at 4:00 am, photographer and hiking ambassador Bohdan Susol will lead a sunrise trek to Mt. Khomiak. Known for his award-winning landscape photography, Bohdan promises not only an incredible hike but also stunning photos of the Carpathians bathed in morning light.
Whether you’re seeking a peaceful walk in the woods or a challenging mountain adventure, the Bukovel Tourist Center makes it easy to connect with nature, gain experience, and create memories that last a lifetime.
