Bukovel resort served as the general partner of the inclusive physical and wellness event "Zvytyaha Neskorenykh" – one of the most significant veteran sports initiatives at the start of the year. The event brought together nearly 350 participants and clearly demonstrated how sport supports physical recovery, psychological resilience, and social reintegration of veterans.
Athletes competed in three leagues – amateur, first, and elite – based on their physical abilities, with separate competitions for men and women. The program featured five adaptive disciplines:
- barbell bench press for repetitions,
- rowing on the Concept-2 ergometer,
- kettlebell snatch,
- air bike,
- team relays in the strongman / invastrong format.
Participants were split into groups according to injury types and medical conditions, ensuring fair and balanced competition for everyone.
Representatives of state authorities and sports institutions attended the ceremonies as honorary guests, highlighting the role of adaptive sport as a powerful tool for rehabilitation, morale building, and returning to active life. In their speeches, they emphasized that such events foster a community where strength is rooted in mutual support and victory is a personal path for each participant.
For Bukovel, supporting initiatives like this is an integral part of the Veteran Support and Sporting Nation programs within the resort’s Sustainable Development Strategy.
“Investing in sport for veterans means investing in people, social unity, and the recovery of the country. Adaptive and inclusive sports formats help build a barrier-free environment where everyone can unlock their potential”, the Bukovel Sustainable Development Office notes.
The competition was organized by the Strongman Federation of Ukraine in cooperation with the Kyiv City State Administration Department of Youth and Sports and the Ukrainian Mass Sports Agency. The tournament marked the Federation’s first veteran event of 2026 and the second competition of the new season.
