— Ms. Onyshchenko, congratulations! This year, three properties – Bukovel Hotel, Bukovel Chalet, and Bukovel Apart – were awarded the international Green Key eco-label. What does this mean for your team and guests?
— Thank you! It’s a significant step in our commitment to sustainable development. Green Key is a globally recognized standard of environmental responsibility in the hospitality sector. Certification means our hotels meet strict criteria – from resource efficiency to raising environmental awareness among both staff and guests.
— What practices have been already introduced in the hotels?
— Our hotels are aligned with the broader vision of Bukovel as a responsible tourist destination. We’ve implemented systems to optimize electricity and water use. Guests are encouraged to support sustainability through simple actions – for instance, each room has signage inviting guests to skip daily linen and towel changes. It’s a small step with a big impact on natural resource conservation.
— Do you feel Ukrainian tourists are ready to support these initiatives?
— Absolutely. And we’re seeing more and more positive feedback. Guests increasingly value comfort that’s combined with care for the environment. For many, it’s not just a trend – it’s a conscious lifestyle. Responsible tourism is becoming the new standard for quality vacations.
— Would you say Bukovel hotels are becoming sustainability leaders?
— I believe so. Bukovel Hotel, Bukovel Chalet, and Bukovel Apart are among the first to bring sustainable practices to the resort. But more than that, we’re helping shape a new mountain tourism culture that goes hand in hand with international standards.
