COMPETITIONS RECAP: WEEK ONE

16 FEBRUARY 2024
Competitions recap: week one

Dear friends!

The long-awaited wintersports competition month is well underway at Bukovel. The Carpathian mountains are heartily welcoming a multitude of competitive events this year,  including the Ukrainian championship series and FIS-supported international events in alpine skiing, freestyle and snowboarding.

On February 7-9, the season was opened by the Ukrainian alpine skiing youth championship, deciding the ownership of the national team reserve slots, as well as the right to represent Ukraine at internationals during the current season. For two days straight, 117 young athletes competed in slalom and giant slalom.

On February 12-14, the FIS Ukrainian Open gathered the country's cream of the crop snowborders. On the first day, fierce competition unfolded in parallel giant slalom, while parallel slalom was the discipline of the second day. Among ladies, Annamarie Dancha expectedly took the crown of the absolute champion. Among men, Mykhailo Haruk firmly claimed gold in both disciplines.

The competition marathon will last until March 5. For an entire month, the guests of Bukovel will celebrate wintersports and be treated to spectacular performances of our athletes. Therefore, we invite all the enjoyers to fan zones on slopes 2A, 8A and 8B!
