Info center: Your first stop for a seamless Bukovel experience

Meet Yuliia Pysarenko, Operations Manager of the Bukovel Info Center

— Hi, Yuliia! How do you define sustainable development?

— To me, sustainable development is all about building a society that grows economically while meeting people’s needs – but never at the expense of nature. It’s about protecting the environment, following ecological laws, and using resources wisely. And it’s about thinking ahead, making sure future generations inherit not just knowledge but a safe, clean planet.

— How long have you been part of the Bukovel team?

— I joined Bukovel in December 2018, so I’ve been here over six years. It’s been a fantastic journey of growth and learning. Working here isn’t just about daily tasks – it’s about adapting to challenges, improving processes, and constantly developing as a professional. I’m proud to be part of this team!

— What are your main responsibilities at Bukovel?

— As Operations Manager of the Info Center, I oversee a team that connects our guests with the resort. We’re often the first point of contact, shaping visitors’ impressions of Bukovel’s service and atmosphere.

Our mission is to provide accurate, timely, and useful information about everything the resort offers – from lifts and attractions to events, rentals, and seasonal promotions.

My role involves:

  • Ensuring qualified staff are always available at key locations;
  • Managing inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits;
  • Maintaining high communication standards and service quality;
  • Quickly resolving issues, from lost ski-passes to customer complaints;
  • Tracking inquiries, analyzing trends, and suggesting improvements;
  • Coordinating with other resort departments;
  • Broadcasting important announcements via Bukovel Radio.

Ultimately, our goal is to create a welcoming environment where every guest feels heard and valued.

— What kinds of questions do guests usually ask?

— Guests often want to know:

  • Current weather conditions to plan their day;
  • Lift operating hours, especially for early morning or evening rides;
  • Where to buy tickets and available deals;
  • Which ski slopes match their skill level;
  • Where to rent equipment and actual rental pricing;
  • Other entertainment options like tours, SPA, or evening events;
  • Medical station locations and safety tips;
  • Directions and parking options;
  • Lessons and coachings, which are popular for both children and adults.

— Bukovel recently hosted an inclusivity training. What stood out for you?

— The key takeaway was that inclusivity isn’t just ramps or signs – it’s about attitude. Learning how to offer help respectfully and communicate with people with disabilities made a big impression.

Real-life examples helped me see things from guests’ perspectives. After the training, I’m more attentive to details, more considerate, and focused on ensuring everyone feels respected       –  whether it’s parents with strollers, elderly visitors, or anyone who might need extra care.

— Does the Info Center promote eco-friendly practices among guests?

— Absolutely. We share simple tips for caring for the environment: saving energy, not littering in the Carpathians, and using EV charging stations. Recently, in collaboration with the “Batteries, surrender yourselves” initiative, we installed a battery collection box in our main office. Small habits can make a big difference.

— Bukovel has two Information Centers. Are they different?

— Yes. One is near lift #2 in the resort center, focused on quick, on-the-spot assistance. The other, on the roof of Buka (6th floor), handles phone support and hosts Bukovel Radio. It also manages lost ski passes in winter. Both work together to provide comprehensive support for all guests, wherever they are.

— Finally, how do you envision Bukovel’s future?

— Bukovel has enormous potential as a top Ukrainian tourist destination. It’s evolving into a year-round resort, expanding summer activities, wellness, sports, and cultural offerings.

Sustainability is key: green standards, inclusive facilities, and eco-friendly initiatives are shaping a new level of service. I see Bukovel as a modern, innovative, accessible, and environmentally conscious resort that blends comfort, nature, and high-quality service year-round.
