On 24 February, Bukovel Medical Center hosted a Donor Day together with the resort’s ski school.
Among those who donated were Bukovel’s Marketing Director Vasyl Simonenko and Bukovel Medical Center SMM manager Diana Pashko. We asked them to share what the experience was like.
For Vasyl, the full-scale Russian invasion was the turning point that pushed him to become a donor: “This is my second time donating blood. The first time was two years ago at the Kyiv City Blood Center. Why do I do it? Because it’s a real way to help someone who truly needs it.”
Diana donated for the first time: “I’ve wanted to do this for more than three years – ever since I found out I have blood group 1 with a negative Rh factor and that I’m a universal red blood cell donor. Back then I thought: I should do it. But it was always scary and ‘it wasn't the right time’. And now it feels like the opportunity found me on its own,” she says.
A single donation can help three people. Altogether, more than 50 participants joined the Donor Day in Bukovel.
For Bukovel, sustainable development also means supporting meaningful initiatives, caring about health, and staying human.
P.S. In total, 16 of our colleagues donated blood on Donor Day.
