Bukovel is the perfect place to safely enjoy skiing and snowboarding. To make the most of your experience, it’s important to prepare the right skiwear in advance. If you don’t have the necessary gear or the time to find it, Bukovel offers high-quality ski and snowboard clothing for rent. Our rental shops provide everything you need – jackets, pants, helmets, gloves, and goggles.
If you’re considering buying your own gear, keep this checklist in mind:
1. Jacket, Pants, or Overalls
Your ski or snowboard outfit should protect you from the cold, wind, and snow. Choose windproof and waterproof materials with good thermoregulation to keep you warm and dry.
2. Boots
Comfortable boots are half the success of a great ride. Both ski and snowboard boots should fit snugly but not be too tight. Snowboard boots are softer, allowing for flexibility and comfort, while ski boots are rigid with a hard sole to effectively transfer movement to the skis.
3. Gloves or Mittens
Skiers typically prefer five-finger gloves for better control of the poles, while snowboarders often opt for mittens, which provide more warmth. Regardless of your choice, the outer layer should be waterproof, with proper insulation inside.
4. Goggles
Look for goggles with double lenses that fit snugly and comfortably against your face, preventing fogging and protecting your eyes from wind and sun glare.
5. Thermal Underwear and Socks
Choose materials that wick away moisture effectively, such as polyester or merino wool. Thermal underwear should fit snugly, like a second skin, ensuring freedom of movement without shifting under your outerwear. Both snowboarders and skiers should also wear a fleece jacket over their thermal layer for added warmth.
6. Helmet
A winter helmet with warm ear covers is a must for comfort and safety. Always wear a helmet while riding – your safety comes first. And if you want a stylish photo, you can take it off once you’re at the foot of the mountain.
7. Buff
This versatile neck gaiter can be worn around the neck, over the mouth and nose, or even as a hat. It’s a great addition under your helmet for extra warmth.
8. Small Essentials
Don’t forget SPF sunscreen (the sun in the mountains is strong), lip balm to keep your lips hydrated, and a power bank to keep your devices charged. These little things will come in handy for both skiers and snowboarders.
