Presented by Ukrainian Nordic Walking School’s volunteers and ”Vysota” company (equipment provision).
Join one of the groups and enjoy the specially prepared mountain routes, accompanied by the experienced instructors.
Nordic walking requires no more than suitable footwear and trekking poles.
Courses start daily at 10:00am near the entrance to the Lake of Youth.
What are the benefits of Nordic walking? Compared to regular walking, Nordic walking involves applying force to the poles, which means receiving fitness building stimulation not present in normal walking for the chest, triceps, biceps, shoulder, abdominals, spinal and other core muscles. It also removes tension from the neck and shoulders, which is the main concern of the office-working employees.
Nordic walking is highly beneficial for older adults and people with excess weight. With pointed trekking poles it is safely to walk on any surfaces, whether snow or ice.
With proper trekking poles, the harmful effect on the joints is significantly reduced, compared to regular walking or jogging, and the calories you will cut during the one hour session are equal to the effect of a two hour jogging session!
