PANORAMAS OF SVYDOVETS, LOCAL DELIGHTS IN KVASY
This journey captures the true spirit of the Carpathians, where every peak, every craft, and every flavor is part of a vibrant cultural landscape. It’s one of those rare routes that not only opens up scenic views, but also grounds you in tradition – a tradition that continues to thrive in the rhythm of modern life.
Tour highlights:
Svydovets ridge:
The route leads to scenic viewpoints near Mt. Stih, offering panoramic views of Hoverla, Petros, Blyznytsia, and Zhandarm, as well as the northern peaks like Khomiak and Syniak.
Svydovets is a gently rolling glacially shaped ridge, one of the most untouched in the Carpathians. It divides the watersheds of the Tysa and Chorna Tysa rivers and is the source of countless streams. The area preserves unique alpine meadows, subalpine wetlands, and relic species of flora.
Trufanets Waterfall:
A natural gem of Zakarpattia. Cascading 36 meters down rocky slopes, this dynamic waterfall creates a moment of awe, connection, and energy – a meeting with the raw power of nature.
Strukiv church, Yasinia:
A 17th-century wooden church and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built entirely without nails, it represents the finest example of Hutsul architecture – where the harmony of proportions, the silence of ash-wood walls, and the scent of centuries evoke a deep spiritual presence.
Kvasy village:
A modern hub of Hutsul craftsmanship. Here, traditional manufacturing is kept alive and thriving: pottery, weaving, cheesemaking, woodworking, and leatherwork all flourish, with products sought after both in Ukraine and abroad. Kvasy is a powerful example of how heritage craftsmanship can thrive in the present without losing its roots.
"Tsypa" craft brewery:
An introduction to the creative Hutsul approach to brewing. The tour includes a behind-the-scenes look at the production process and a tasting of signature beers and cheeses themed around our region's mountain peaks. Every sip blends spring water, local ingredients, and a bold Carpathian character.
"Bokorash" restaurant:
The final stop of your culinary journey. Here, traditional recipes come alive in a modern interpretation. Dishes include banosh, mushroom soup, grilled trout, herb-seasoned meats, bryndza cheese, pickled delicacies, and house-made fruit liqueurs.
Burkut mineral spring:
One of the most famous mineral waters of Zakarpattia. Known since the 19th century, its taste and composition reflect the rich mineral base of the Carpathian soil. A refreshing and authentic end to a journey deeply rooted in nature and culture.
