On its well-equipped slopes and facilities, Ukrainian athletes prepare for national and international events, turning our region into a launching point for sporting success.
Bukovel plays a pivotal role in organizing and hosting events, offering access to training grounds for teams in alpine skiing, biathlon, snowboarding, freestyle, orienteering, cycling, and athletics. These resources help athletes reach peak form and deliver strong results on competitive stages.
The resort also maintains a long-standing partnership with the Ski Federation of Ukraine. A recently signed memorandum of cooperation outlines a 10-year commitment, with Bukovel serving as a key sponsor of Ukraine’s national ski team. This collaboration supports the organization of top-level competitions and provides the national team with high-quality training conditions and professional preparation for international events.
In 2025, Bukovel once again became the midpoint for official winter sports competitions in Ukraine. The resort hosted national championships in snowboarding, freestyle, and alpine skiing across various age categories, as well as FIS events in both snowboarding and alpine skiing.
But today, Ukrainian sport means more than competition. Even in the most perilous times, it has become a symbol of resilience, national unity, and the belief in one’s strength.
Oleksandr Abramenko, Olympic champion and First Vice President of the Ski Federation of Ukraine, emphasized the importance of infrastructure in the development of Ukrainian winter sports:
“The main obstacle remains the lack of infrastructure. It’s not just about hosting competitions – it’s also about preparing athletes for starts at the highest level. Bukovel is currently the only location in Ukraine that offers both proper training and competitive conditions. The resort has everything needed: facilities, equipment, and the ability to build trails for various disciplines. That’s why we continue to train and win. I wish every athlete success and safety.
