Artek-Bukovel to accommodate children from large foster families
With Artek-Bukovel camps starting in a couple of days, we are pleased to announce our joint effort with the Olena Zelenska Foundation. This summer, the camp will accommodate 1500 children from large foster families. The mission of this project is restoring the physical and mental health of these children. Therefore, the Ukrainian Carpathians will once again provide much needed recreation, as it is here that children are feeling safe and calm.
Our team is happy to provide recreation for the future generation and does their best to make kids feel happy. Crystal clear air, a unique mountain ecosystem, five-course balanced meals, saturated themed camps, caring counselors and 24/7 security service – these features are vital for the recovery of our young guests.
The initiative continues for the second year in a row. Last summer, Artek-Bukovel camps were visited by more than 1200 kids from 218 foster families. These were children from Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia and other regions touched by the war, as well as IDP's from Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
"It is important for us to provide summer vacation experience to children from large foster families. After all, it's not always possible for parents of up to 10 children – to afford sending them to camps at the same time. Our project provides such an opportunity, this season we are taking as many children from such families as possible to the Carpathians", emphasizes Olena Zelenska, the head of the Foundation.
