Bukovel to reorganize as a certified tourist destination!
Within the framework of the III National Tourism Summit, Bukovel announced important changes in relation to tourism infrastructure, by officially announcing the resort's transition to the format of a tourist destination, aimed at sustainable development and supporting responsible tourism.
The event has resulted in signing a Memorandum of Cooperation with the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine (DART). This cooperation opens up new opportunities for the development of the region as a unique tourist location.
In 2024, Bukovel started a large-scale transformation of infrastructure, reorganizing itself as a certified tourist cluster, which adheres to international standards of sustainable development. The main goal is to become the first tourist destination in Ukraine to be certified according to almost one hundred international protocols and practices.
Mariana Oleskiv, Head of DART, had this to say: "Bukovel creates conditions for sustainable development and responsible tourism, focusing on adhering to international standards and aimed at the economic growth of the region. This pilot project has the potential to become a model for the country's entire tourism industry."
These changes open up new horizons for the development of the region and provide opportunities for every tourist not only to relax, but also participate in supporting sustainable development and increasing environmental awareness.
