BUKOVEL FREE FIGHT CUP, TOUR VI

24 FEBRUARY 2018

So you may ask what’s new for Bukovel Free Fight Cup season 8, and right now it's the time that we give some updates on the series.

As Bukovel always strives for the best possible performance level, for the season to come we have management issues handed to the professional PFU union. That means the standards are going up, regarding overall quality of the show, refereeing, organization and broadcasting. We continue the tradition of showcases in open arenas, the feature that made the discipline that very popular in our country. The new Bukovel arena has been designed to allow visitors the feeling of complete presence. It even has no ropes or "cages" which means absolutely no obstacles to block the vision of the entire fight, as it progresses in "upper" and "lower" stages. The improved rule setting also adds to spectacular moments, as now only those proactive, creative and fair-play-devoted fighters are going to be rewarded with higher scores.

As the tournament progresses, the tension is getting higher and higher! And the last, fifth tour, was a bright example of that!

We’ve spectated fights so uncompromising and tough, every spectacular moment was when the entire fan was set aflame with emotions as we cheered up for our favorite athletes. Not only super loud ovations and thundering applauds accompanied those tense moments, but sometimes breathtaking silence of the crowd. Some huge moments we’ve experienced, and there’s still a lot to come this year, as we are steadily moving to the final stage!

The challenger fights are done and now only one last step remains for our contenders to claim the main prize:

  • U57 weight category: Levon Ambartsumyan VS Denys Bondar
  • U84 weight category: Vitaliy Onyschenko VS Olexandr Dolotenko

There’s not much time left for to wait to wait, as the Grand Final clashes pairs are determined and the fights scheduled for March 10!

No doubt, the first Grand Finals were the headlines of the last tour. They were intriguing to the very last second and we are now ready to give you the names of our clear and undisputable victors:

  • U77 weight category: Mykola Grynchuk
  • U61.2 weight category: Olexandr Lunga
