The World Snow Day – the new event started and held by FIS – the International Federation of Skiing. It’s presented as:
• A part of the FIS international campaign “Bring Children to the Snow” started in 2007
• Annual Festival of Snow for children and their families
• Great opportunity to explore, enjoy and practice snow activities (Explore, Enjoy, Experience – is the motto of the Festival)
• Chance to try any activity in, on or with snow!
• Opportunity to engage the representatives of the field-specific world companies to promote various entertaining snow activities
• Means to attract people who’ve already explored the fun of snow activities or who would like to try them
• Event aiming to familiarize the newcomers with snow and fun it provides, or to create new values to those practicing snow activities
The World Snow Day will include various events happening at a time during one weekend all around the world and thus this holiday will become the greatest Day of Snow within the whole year!
During all it’s work history “Bukovel Ski and Snowboard school” participated in different projects aiming the development of national culture and this is the priority area of the school’s social activity
The main spheres of our social investments are: popularization of healthy lifestyle, development of mountain skiing and snowboarding sports; helping children to master their skills in skiing.
We are sure our social projects will contribute to development of Ukrainian society.
Thus we decided to endorse the World Snow Day event and contribute again to popularization of healthy lifestyle and promotion of skiing and snowboarding sports.
“Let’s go skiing” event (“World Snow Day”)
Event organizer:
• “Bukovel” Ski and Snowboard School with the support of Federation of Ski Sports of Ukraine.
Aim of the event:
• Promotion of healthy lifestyle and mountain skiing
• To engage children into mountain skiing and active snow sports
Mission:
• To train children in mountain skiing (initial level)
• To promote mountain skiing among children
Project participants:
• Children in the age of 4-12 years, non-skiers
Event schedule:
• Time ranks of event – Jan.22 2012, 9:00 – 15:00
• 9:00 – 11:00 – training of the first group of participants
• 11:20 – 13:20 – training of the second group of participants
• 14:00 – 15:00 – participants’ competitions
• Each child can get free training with the instructor
• Time of training – 2 hours
• Lessons are run by the experienced trainers specializing in children training

During the time of training children will learn to:
• To select the ski equipment correctly
• To check the technical condition of the equipment
• Rules of skiing safety
• To counterpoise during the straight-line skiing
• Snowplow
• Stem-plough
• Use the ski lift for beginners
